Podsumowanie wolontariatu Zrinki
Time flies so fast, I can’t believe that my voluntary journey is almost over. I did so many things this year, it would be hard to remember all of it but I’ll try.
My journey consisted of working in Klub Kultury Lokietek, but I was also doing other activities under umbrella of a project IntegrART not related to the Klub. For example working on content creation of Volunteer in Krakow’s social media accounts, volunteering in Szafa dobra and collaboration with Kristian and Arrate in Klub Kultury Przegorzały.
Here are activities in the club and outside the club from November to September.
Regular workshops that I was conducting were inside the cycle 2 ŻYCIE RZECZY which means “second life of objects”. Classes were for adults and youngsters, sometimes children once per month with different topics every time. We were combining artistic techniques where I had the opportunity to show my skills and also incorporate the ecological part of reusing old items. The topics were: linocut, recycling paper, batik and tie-die. It was the first time for the club to introduce this kind of workshop for the adult public, since usually kids were the most usual attendants before.
I was also making content for Lokietek’s social media in terms of photos, videos and copywriting about the current happenings in the club. But my biggest challenge was content for social media about similarities and differences between Croatian and Polish language CHORWACKO-POLSKI SŁOWNIK DWUZNACZNOŚCI. It was a journey where I was discovering new Polish vocabulary in daily life in comparison to my mother tongue Croatian. I was responsible for the visuals and the text with great help from my coordinator who was an expert for the Polish language.
During International Kids Day I introduced initiative DZIECI DZIECIOM LISTY KLECĄ – exchange of letters between Croatian and Polish kids.
In the club we organized two public events as a part of the cycle KOLEKTYW KULINARNY and filmed one culinary Youtube video as a part of series GRANIE W GOTOWANIE. Topics were mainly about Croatian cuisine and also Ukrainian national cuisine. After preparation of Ukrainian national dish Piroshki, all the food was donated for refugees on the main railway station in Krakow.
Since the invasion on Ukraine started this February everyone was in a great shock and it was not an easy period for us. After a lot of thinking Klub Kultury Lokietek decided to start an action POMAGAMY JAK UMIEMY and I helped and support in promotion, organization and leading of an event, also following it up on social media. It was hard and tough emotionally but the feeling or contributing and helping was outstanding.
SZAFA DOBRA. One day per week in the period from February to May I dedicated myself to volunteer in Szafa Dobra, a big “wardrobe” where Ukrainian refugees had a chance to collect necessities (clothes, shoes, underwear). It was a big international organization under “Internationaler Bund Polska”. Volunteering in Szafa was also hard emotionally but the reward of knowing that I was contributing help in that terrible situation felt right and good.
In April everything was about ecology. I helped during EKO DZIEŃ W ŁOKIETKU and together with Arrate – volunteer in KK Wola and Kristian – volunteer in KK Przegorzaly we made green artworks and contributed in bulding an ECO GARDEN in Klub Kultury Przegorzaly.
With all IntegrART volunteers I took a part in a big Centrum Kultury Dworek Białoprądnicki event for KID’S DAY.
I also helped a lot during WINTER and SUMMER CAMPS for children spending holidays in Cracow.
